A microcement alternative

Microcement more and more often wins with panels, boards or tiles as a floor finish. In addition to aesthetic considerations, practical considerations are also important:

microcement has no joints, and thus is easy to clean
its uniform surface makes the room look more spacious
is water resistant and therefore is a practical solution for a kitchen open to living room
has high scratch resistance – important when you have children or pets at home
is fast to apply
you can make microcement on your own - there are video tutorials, stationary microcement training courses and manufacturer’s technical support available.

All this, as well as previous good experiences with microcement, encouraged our client to make a white microcement floor with a touch of gray on her own. As the first layer, she used gray microcement from the Festfloor Life series in the GR4 Graphite Marble color, and after it dried and was sanded, she applied Festfloor Go! in the FF9003 Signal White color, thanks to which she obtained an interesting and unique pattern.

Weißes und goldenes Badezimmer – Mikrozement und Harz statt Fliesen

Der Mikrozement unserer Kundin wird auch im Badezimmer verwendet. Sie träumte von einem einzigartigen Badezimmer, das sich von den aktuellen Trends abhebt, also ohne Grau- oder Industrieelemente, aber auch ohne Marmor- oder Holzoptikfliesen. Das Badezimmer sollte von Mineralien inspiriert sein, mit goldenen Elementen. Der Boden und die meisten Wände im Raum sind mit weißem Mikrozement bedeckt, und die Duschwand sowie die Nischen der Regale bestehen aus Epoxidharz (eingefärbt mit goldenen Mineralpigmenten) und Bergkristallen. Das Gesamtbild wirkt sehr originell!
